Chase Theatre Company

The Chase Theatre Company was formed in 2003 by three enthusiastic amateur actors. Since then Chase has produced at least two dramatic plays or comedies a year. Always on the look out for new talent - the Chase would ask you to be in their play, no yearly subscription involved.

Croft Drama Group

An award-winning group of 7 - 18 year olds who meet weekly during term times in Carshalton under professional tutelage. All aspects of communication and performance skills are explored with regular performance opportunities and an annual LAMDA examination. Members normally achieve Grades 6, 7 and 8 in Years 11, 12 and 13 - all of which carry UCAS tariff points. The Group supports a pony at The Diamond Centre for Disabled Riders.

Fallen Angels

Drama workshops for the over 50s with professional facilitator. Varied programme includes acting techniques, theatre games, musicals, masks, mime, play readings and improvisation. We laugh a lot, use our imaginations and make new friends! Meetings are on Thursdays 2 - 4pm (during term time) at Wallington United Reformed Church, Stanley Park Road (on the corner of Holmwood Gardens.

Rough Mechanicals Theatre Company

The Rough Mechanicals Theatre Company was formed specifically to perform the works of Shakespeare in a clear, fresh and unpretentious manner. Its aim is to demystify Shakespeare for audiences and performers alike and make these wonderful plays available on a regular basis at the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre, where the intimacy of the venue will make the performance of the plays a shared experience that will challenge and entertain both audience and performer.

Ruskin Players

The Ruskin Players are unique in South London in that all plays are performed ‘in-the-round’. This means that we do not use a conventional stage. Rather, the floor of our theatre is the stage and the audience sit on the sides, looking across to the actors on the same level.

St Dunstan’s & St John’s Players

St Dunstan’s and St John’s Players merged in 2007. Previously St Dunstan’s had celebrated 70 years in Cheam and St John’s 46 years in Belmont. The Players usually present one production a year at the Adrian Mann Theatre and also produce Castlewick Light, a regular audio drama distributed to talking newspapers and hospital radios. We are also partners in Fusion Players with Worcester Park Dramatic Society and St Paul’s Drama Group.

Savvy Theatre Company

Savvy Theatre is dedicated to youth and community arts with three main strands:
1. The young company - a drama group for teenagers aged 13 - 19, which meets in Wallington on Thursdays from 4.30 - 7.30pm during term time.
2. Adult classes - giving local adults the opportunity to study the craft of acting.
3. Community projects - from one-off school workshops to large-scale theatre performances.

Sutton Amateur Dramatic Club

SADC stages three major productions a year, all straight plays, many of which have been very adventurous and have received considerable praise from critics and audiences alike. Recent productions have included Somerset Maugham’s Sheppey, The National Theatre’s Animal Farm by George Orwell and Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard.

The Tudor Players

The Tudor Players are a very sociable group performing two plays each year at the Charles Cryer Studio Theatre. Rehearsals are held every Monday in the Function Room at the Harvest Home Pub in Beddington Lane. New members are always welcomed whether interested in backstage or acting.
